Permission slips signed from the parent's phone.

Field-trip consent, media releases, program enrollments, and parent acknowledgments, sent home as a link instead of a crumpled paper in a backpack, and returned signed the same evening.

· What you'll send

The backpack is the least reliable document-delivery system ever deployed. Sign Sail replaces it with a link or QR code in the class email: parents fill in their child's details, check the consent, and sign from whatever device they're holding, and you can see exactly which families are still outstanding.

Field-trip permission slips

Trip details and the consent in one form, with the parent's signature, timestamp, and an emergency-contact field that's actually legible for once.

Media & photo releases

Yearbook, website, and social-media consent, captured per child with a record of exactly what the parent agreed to, including an explicit opt-out option.

Enrollment & registration forms

Program sign-ups, club registrations, and after-school enrollment with medical notes, pickup authorization, and the signature in one pass.

Policy acknowledgments

Device agreements, codes of conduct, and handbook acknowledgments at the start of the year, tracked so you know which families still owe one.

· Questions

Asked before you ask.

Can a parent sign for their child?

Yes, that's the standard pattern: the form names the student, the parent or legal guardian completes and signs it, and the signature record (IP, timestamp, consent, hash) attaches to that guardian. Include a relationship-to-student field so the record states who signed.

What about families without computers?

The form works on any phone browser with nothing to install, which covers nearly everyone, and the same QR code can run on a tablet at pickup time for the rest. Forms are mobile-first by design: large tap targets and a finger-friendly signature pad.

How do I see which families haven't signed?

Submissions appear in your dashboard as they land, exportable to CSV or Excel, so the outstanding list is the class roster minus the submission list. Send the same link in a reminder email to close the gap.

Legal-grade on every plan.

Every signature carries the signer's IP, a UTC timestamp, the user-agent, a SHA-256 hash, and a frozen copy of the form, baked into a signed PDF. Included at every tier, not sold back to you as an upgrade.
