Yes, free forever, not a trial. The Free plan includes 2 forms, 1 uploaded document, and 25 submissions a month, and every one of them can carry a legally binding signature with the full SHA-256 audit trail and a sealed PDF. No credit card to start, and no watermark on your documents.
Usually nothing at first. Most solo users start on the free plan and stay there until client volume outgrows 25 submissions a month. After that, Pro is $12/mo billed annually ($16 month-to-month) for 1,000 submissions, unlimited forms, custom templates, and CSV export. Every plan is flat per account, so there's no per-seat math at any point.
Metering. DocuSign's Standard plan runs $25 per user per month and includes 100 envelopes per user per year, which works out to about $3 per envelope (as of our June 2026 pricing check). Sign Sail Pro is $12 a month flat with 1,000 submissions included every month, under 2 cents per signed document at full use.
None of the three. Each plan is one flat price per account with seats included: 1 on Free and Pro, 3 on Business, 10 on Enterprise. The only meter is monthly submissions, and a submission costs the same whether or not it carries a signature.
Nothing gets deleted. We email you at 80% and again at 100% of the monthly cap; once you're over it, new submissions pause until the month rolls over or you upgrade. Existing data follows your tier's retention window: 90 days on Free, 1 year on Pro, indefinitely on Business and Enterprise.
